Renovation and DGNB silver certification

Knudsen Kilen is supplying blocks to increase heights in the renovation of Knud Højgaard House in Kultorvet, Copenhagen.

The renovation began in Q4 2022 and is expected to be completed in Q3 2023. The building, which previously housed Niels Brock Copenhagen Business College and Copenhagen Main Library, will now be converted to retail on the ground floor and offices on the 1st to 5th floors.

The project is using Knudsen Kilen’s Yellow Wedge with sound reduction, which has a blocking-up height of 27-48 mm, particularly useful in renovation projects where the space beneath the floors is narrow.

To eliminate noise from footsteps, the building owner has opted for Knudsen Kilen’s step sound bricks. This will reduce step sound acoustics in Knud Højgaard House and increase its chances of living up to current law requirements for new buildings of a maximum of 53 dB.

This way, Knud Højgaard House will become a healthier, much more pleasant space for future users.
